Registration

You will be required to complete a client registration form. I can help you with this.

Proof of up to date vaccinations will be required upon registration, to eliminate any possibility of infectious diseases contaminating the premises.

I will also carry out a general health check for signs of any lumps, bumps or other possible health implications and discuss any issues with you. You may be advised to seek medical attention from a professional veterinary practitioner. It must be noted however, any examinations I (Marina’s Grooming Studio) undertake, are not that of a professional, such as from a vet.

You will be required to inform me if your dog has aggressive tendencies or has bitten previously. I (Marina’s Grooming Studio), reserve the right to refuse a groom should your dog show aggressive behaviour.

Toileting your dog

Please toilet your dog before entering the studio. An uncomfortable dog, is often an unhappy dog and I want this to be a pleasant experience for him/her.

Price quotes

My guide price is based on the time taken to groom a well behaved dog that is regularly groomed, and with their coat in good condition. Therefore, your quoted price may change upon collection of your dog should he/she require more time to groom.

Payments

Payments are required on the collection of your dog. Cash, cheque and bank transfer are accepted only.

De-matting of a dogs coat

It is important to take your dog regularly to be groomed as this helps to keep your dogs coat and skin in good condition. I am happy to discuss regular appointments with you.

It is important that your dog enjoys his/her experience whilst in my care, however, de-matting a neglected dogs coat, can cause a lot of stress and discomfort and it is therefore sometimes required to clip the entire coat away, for the benefit and welfare of the dog. The coat would be clipped close to the skin, which can sometimes cause complications resulting in broken or irritated skin. The owner agrees that I (Marina’s Grooming Studio), will not be held responsible or liable for complications arising from grooming a neglected dog. The owner will be held responsible for any additional costs incurred for the additional work involved or any after care that may be needed.

I (Marina’s Grooming Studio), reserve the right to refuse a groom should it be deemed too severely matted to safely clip off the coat.

Insurance

I (Marina’s Dog Grooming Studio) hold Public Liability Insurance.

Cancellation Policy

We often lead such busy lives but please, if you are unable to make your appointment, for any reason, please inform me with no less than 24 hours notice. Without this, a 50% fee will be charged to cover the loss of my work.

Arriving late Fees

Please ensure that you arrive on time for your appointment, as this may result in implications and interruptions of my next appointment. You may be charged for late arrivals.  Arriving more than 15 minutes late after your appointment time, may result in your appointment being cancelled and a full charge being taken.

Late collection Policy

I will call you when your dog is ready to be collected. An approximate collection time will be given before you leave. Please be ready to collect your dog once you receive my phone call/answerphone message. Late collections resulting in the loss/interruptions of my next appointment will be charged for, as that time will be already reserved.

Failure to disclose medical information

If you fail to disclose any information on skin conditions or allergies, I (Marinas’ Grooming Studio), will not be held responsible or liable for any irritation, patchiness, abrasions or hair loss that may arise due to the grooming procedure.

If you fail to disclose any information on physical and/or medical conditions such as elbow or hip dysplasia, epilepsy etc, I (Marina’s Dog Grooming Studio), will not be held responsible or liable for any injuries incurred during the grooming procedure.

Complaints of negligence

If you believe your dog has been injured during the grooming procedure, you must seek veterinary assistance within 24 hours. Whilst the highest level of care will be taken in the grooming process, sharp scissors and equipment are used, and dogs often move suddenly, potentially resulting in risk of cuts and nicks. I (Marina’s Grooming Studio) however, will not be held responsible or liable for injuries incurred.
